What if you could help end world hunger and simultaneously increase your vocabulary by simply playing a game?  Now, what if I told you that in order to play that game you didn’t have to buy, pledge, donate, or give away any of your personal information?  Sound too good to be true?  Well, check out FreeRice.com and see what they have to say about all that.  This viral web-based fundraising game developed by John Breen has been able to raise over 1 billion grains of rice (enough rice to feed over 50,000 people for 1 day) by simply having people play a game!  I, for one, have been playing this game for about 30 minutes or so and raised about 2000 grains of rice.  Probably not enough to feed a family but hey, it’s a start.

So I know I’m a horrible friend, haven’t been in touch for months and at one time three months ago in the same prefecture as some of your family. I will have you know though that I’m doing my best to make up for my short comings. I currently have two, no wait, three pages open to fat panda productions, one to play Nicole repeatedly, one to donate rice (quite interesting though I am mildly disappointed with my constant 37-38 vocab score) and the third write this comment. Again I’ll get in touch, I’m in Japan donating rice at the moment so tomorrow morning sometime. Great work on the site by the way.
